John 20
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Imagine the moment when Mary Magdalene and the other women came to the tomb and found it empty. They had been grieving, and the loss of Jesus was so overwhelming. How do you think they felt when they realized Jesus wasn’t there? How can this sense of hope in the midst of grief apply to your own struggles or seasons of loss?
Today’s devotion highlighted that the folded napkin symbolized that Jesus was not finished and would return. How does this reminder of Jesus’ return shape the way you live your life today?
In what ways can you live with anticipation of His return, even in ordinary moments?
As was customary at the time, there was a traditional process for preparing a body for burial. Reflect on the solemnity of this process as Jesus’ body was prepared for burial. Think about the care that was given throughout this process. How does this knowledge of the way Jesus' body was cared for and honored deepen your appreciation for the sacrifice He made for you? In what ways can you honor Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection in your own life?
